I-COM Data Creativity Awards 2018

The objective of the I-COM Data Creativity Awards is to acknowledge the most creative people & companies in achieving business value and ideally, competitive advantage for their clients by leveraging value from data. 

Based on the submissions, the I-COM Data Creativity Awards Jury nominated the Official Selection finalists that presented at the 9th edition of the next I-COM Global Summit on April 9 - 12, 2018 in San Sebastian. After the 2nd round of judging the winners were announced.

Honorable Mention

I-COM recognizes Kenya's Nation Media Group for its DCA 2018 entry “Deadly Force Database” with a special social justice Honorable Mention. The submission team synthesized public records and crowdsourced reports to shed light on the Kenya Government’s and Police’s practices of citizen arrests and beatings resulting in deaths. The powerful infographic and information campaign demonstrated how data visualizations can be used beyond commerce to engage citizens, raise awareness of causes and issues, and promote justice. I-COM applauds the team’s work and risk-taking, and hereby recognizes the social justice impacts of the submission with this honorable mention.
