James Hanson - Capability Center Manager, Unilever, UK

James Hanson is the Capability Centre Manager for Unilever’s People Data Centres. He focuses on driving innovation, industrialisation and continuous improvement within the People Data Centre, across services, data, tools and training. The team combines all this to enable more impactful marketing insights delivery.

To date his twin focuses have been to leverage data science and automation to drive insights at speed and scale, while also ensuring the People Data Centre uses increasingly innovative data sources in the context of a changing social listening landscape. James has a particular passion for working with digital data sources in the discovery of consumer trends, speaking about this very topic in San Sebastian at the 2018 edition of the I-COM Global Summit.

James holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and after some time in management consulting, during which he transitioned towards analytics, he joined Unilever. At UnileverJames has cultivated an interest in marketing analytics, leading the UK’s People Data Centre and then the central Capability team.
