Walid Yared is the Group Director for Marketing and Research at the Choueiri Group. As a seasoned marketing professional, Walid is a member of the IAA (International Advertising Association), as well as ESOMAR (European Society of Marketing Research Professionals).

 

At Choueiri Group, Walid Yared leads the overall marketing and research functions within the largest media representation house in the MENA region. Having spearheaded the formation of the Group’s dedicated Marketing and Research Department in 2004, Walid has continued to direct the subsequent growth and success of these core functions within the Group. His overall tenure with Choueiri Group dates back to 1993, when he joined the Group as Managing Director of Promofair (The Group’s exhibitions and trade fairs company).

He holds an MBA-Economics degree from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, where he also earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Sciences.

Terry has more than 13 years in strategy and marketing experience in large national and international organisations. Prior to joining Jumeirah, Terry held positions with the New Forest National Park and STA Travel; and he has been a lecturer at Bournemouth University. During this time, Terry developed an expertise in Digital and Distribution disciplines including Brand & Strategic Marketing Development, Global Channel Operations and Technical Development to ensure that organizations maximise the equity potential from a multitude of diverse and often fragmented channels.

Racha Makarem is the Managing Director of Insights and Research at VivaKi MENA in UAE

In her role as MD of VivaKi, Racha Makarem's expertise has been pivotal for the development of research capabilities in the MENA region, not solely within VivaKi itself, but also affecting the wider industry as well.

Highlights of her achievements include developing ROI tools, which deliver significant business and consumer insights in real time, launching the VNC The Pool initiative and expanding the project through the region's VivaKi Nerve Center.

Born and raised in the Middle East, Makarem credits her success to a love of technology and deep knowledge of the region's consumers. Her decade of experience in media spans various fields including travel, telecommunication, luxury goods, automotive and FMCGs, and comprises a plethora of collaborations with the industry's key players to innovate, research and develop enhanced experiences for consumers online. Prior to joining VivaKi, Makarem worked at TNS where she co-wrote "What Lies Beneath the Veil" – a paper shortlisted at an ESOMAR conference for consumer excellence.

She holds a BA in Economics with a Minor in Liberal Arts from the Lebanese American University (LAU) in Beirut.

Abim heads MBC Group’s Research & Insights unit, with responsibility for market, media, and revenue-support research - as well as consumer data strategy development. Prior to MBC Group, Onasanya was European Media Director at Donovan Data Systems, responsible for the strategic development of global agency cross-media research, planning & transactions systems. Recognising the challenges faced by media owners, advertisers and media agencies in a digital age, Onasanya worked closely with clients’ category management divisions; technology partners; digital media transaction platforms; research and data providers; as well as media owners.

Before DDS, Onasanya was Head of Client & Analytic Services at AGB Nielsen, UK, with responsibility for data quality and daily delivery of TV audience ratings in UK, jointly developing solutions with BARB for the measurement and reporting of new televisual technology.
